The Amberley Museum workshop and display area

Situated next to the Sussex Woodturners Hut

Photo showing Colin and Barry working on items to sell. Area contains  Lathes and  shave horses plus chopping blocks and turning wood. This area is available most of the year for demonstrating (on public days), tuition and producing items for sale. A larger area has been created off the 'Woodland Walk', close by.

 

TUITION IN POLELATHE USE AND ASSOCIATED GREENWOOD CRAFTS AT AMBERLEY
Tuition in cleaving, shave horse work and polelathe turning is  available at the Amberley Working Museum.

The courses are initially a taster one day session over a six hour period and run on a (max) 3 to 1 pupil trainer ratio. All equipment ie: tools. polelathe, shave horse, turning wood etc, is provided. If demand is there the pupil/s can opt to carry on with courses on how to make their own pole lathe and shave horse plus more tuition and guidance in their use. At this stage the opportunity to join the APT will be offered, if not already a member,  plus the chance to demonstrate at Amberley and attend some shows with the group. Free membership of the Amberley based, Green Wood Worker Group  is included in this initial package, enabling you to demonstrate at the Museum if you wish.

Fees from £55.00 per head (based upon two people booking together) for the one day taster course, individual one to one £75.00. For more details email now.
